Announcement: Federal Children’s Fitness Tax Credit
In response to a significant number of inquiries regarding the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit, the Scouts Canada National Operations Advisory Committee reviewed Scouting’s programs as they relate to the tax credit. It was determined that Scouts Canada programs, when delivered to the program standards, promote an active and healthy lifestyle and would be eligible activities for the purpose of the child fitness tax credit.

In preparation for the printing of receipts for tax exemption purpose for youth activities, please email Gloria at
gloria_199@yahoo.ca with the legal name for yourself and your child to be used on the receipt. No receipt will be printed until confirmation is received

Announcement: Recycle your old cellphones!
Bring your old cellphones to meetings to be recycled as part of the Pitch-In Canada initiative.
This is a project taken on by 2 senior scouts as part of their World Conservation project

32nd Richmond Scout Group - Beaver section update for Nov 29th

Dear Beavers and Parents:
This weekend we will NOT have regular meeting at School, but we have CAMP-IN-A-BOX.
Date: Nov 29 6:00pm - 6:30pm registration. (For safety, please remember to sign in and sign out if you have leaving the gym for the night, and back-in, in the morning)
Place: Fraserview Mennoite Brethern Church, 11295 Mellis Drive, Richmond (No. 5/Cambie)
Pick up time: Nov 30 (Sun) 8:30am
Please remember to wear FULL UNIFORM. Beaver Vest, hat and scarf.
Please do NOT bring food or drinks (all will be provided by the Area), you can bring a re-useable drinks container if you wish. NO electronic-games.
Bring the followings:
- Sleeping bag,
- Toiletries(toothbrush etc.)
- Flashlight
- Pyjamas
- Foamie
- Decorated box (if you want to sleep inside a big box, you can bring a box, very fun. Please make sure take it out when you leave)

Popcorn street sale! (Dec 6th)
We have our annual popcorn street sale coming up! it's a great opportunties for our Beavers to get close to the communities.
"The Primary objective of the popcorn street sale is NOT fundraising for more money. In fact, it is an opportunity for youths to enjoy the process of selling and to enhance their social interactions amongst strangers. Our target is to make them feel comfortable in presenting themsevles to otehrs and have FUN."
Youth will be divided into teams. Each team would have at least one Adult leader or a parent, your participation is highly appreciated.
Location: Within the walking distance area from school
Date: December 6th, 2008
Time: 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
FULL UNIFORM REQUIRED.
Please remember to email to us before November 29th, 2008 for registration.

Please wear full uniform – Beaver vest, hat and scarf (for those new Beavers, scarf will be distributed on that night)

Please return the form and money if you sold popcorn to your group leaders that night.
If you don't sell any popcorn, please return the blank form too.

Cell phone collection – Please bring the old and used cell phones on that night. We will have a box to collect.

Thanks for everyone's support for the Apple day! This year we made lots of sales, and We're sure we broke the record for our Scout group.

We will have our regular meeting at School this weekend Oct 25th 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

November 1st, 2008 the last day to hand in the pop corn sales form.

There will be NO REGULAR MEETING on this day. (November 1st, 08)

Does your family have old, useless cellphones at home? Bring them to Scouts meeting during November so that they will be disposed of and recycled properly!

Cub section - 2nd regular meeting

Hi,

We'll have our second regular meeting at Brighouse school at 3:00pm.
Current updates:

1) Parents Council AGM and Parents Information Day
Scouts movement will never be able to succeed without your support, please come join us in the meeting to understand more.

2) Apple Day @ October 18/19
Apple Day is our annual fund raising event. Raised fund will help our Scout group to be invest in better equipment and have more resouces to organize more events! It is a great chance for our Cubs to present themselves to the public :D
Each time slot (Session) has limited space. Please register ASAP to ensure your spot!

3) Investiture Dinner and Appreciation night
We will have our investiture ceremony for new Cubs, and also Sixer/second appointment ceremony. All members are welcome to join the dinner!

4) Cell phone program
The 32nd Richmond Scout Group has initated a used cell phone collection. The drive is part of The National cell Phone Collection Program of PITCH-IN CANADA - a Canada-wide initative Please refer to attachment for more detail information.

Cub section - 1st regular meeting! - September 27th

We will have our first regular meeting at Brighouse Elementary School on this Saturday, Sept 27th, 2008. As the door will be close for opening ceremony at 3:00pm, please be arrive by 2:45pm to ensure timeliness. (Door will be re-open after ceremony is done)

Please remember Cubs will need to wear full uniform, which included scraf, Scouts uniform, black socks, black shoes (runner is ok).

Help us to serve you better. Come and support us! You’ll understand more about your children’s Scout activities from these Section Seminar. ALL PARENTS MUST COME.

***Apple Day on both Saturday and Sunday (October 18 and 19) in Richmond Centre.This annual national fundraising program is a great chance to show our Group to the public. There are 4 sessions:
Saturday, 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Saturday, 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Sunday, 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
Sunday, 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm

We’ll even out our manpower on these 4 sessions. Sign up with Gloria to volunteer for at least one session.
